Abstract

Tremendous advances have been made in the design and application of organometallic complexes as olefin polymerization in the past decades. Study for no-cyclopentadienyl organometallic catalysts is hotspot at present and the search for new catalysts is far from over. The aim of this review is to demonstrate the development of polyolefin catalysts, the catalytic polymerization processes including the coordination polymerization mechanism of chain propagation, the transfer-insertion modes for monomer, the mechanism of chain transfer or chain termination as well as the deactivate processes that might lie in olefin catalytic polymerization courses. The clearly insight into the progress of transition metal catalytic olefin polymerization is essential for rational catalyst design.
