Abstract

Many women feel that alternative and complementary therapies (ACTs) are safer and more ʼnatural’ than orthodox medicines. Currently, there is continuous and intense publicity regarding ACTs and it is not surprising that a growing proportion of women consider such therapies for prevention or treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, including disorders of the menstrual cycle.
