Abstract
Indonesia has responsibility to carrying out of the MDGs, among them to decrease the infant mortality rate. Infant with LBW (Low Birth Weight) is one of cases to increase infant mortality rate in Padang city. The higher incident of infant with LBW in Padang city find out at Air Dingin Health Centre, that is 37 infant (10,6%) in year 2011 and 39 infant (7,5%) in year 2012. The purposes of this study is to find out the factors that influence the incidence of the infant with LBW. This study was conducted from April-Agustus 2013 with cases control study design. This study use total sampling that is 39 mothers with LBW infant and 39 mothers with normal birth weight for control. To collecting data use questionnaire and KIA book. Analyzed data by using univariate and bivariate. The study obtained : maternal age risk during pregnancy, cases 15,4% and controls 23,1%; risk weight gain, cases 64,1% and controls 15,4%; Anemia during pregnancy, cases 82,9% and controls 37,1%; KEK (Lack Energy Chronic), cases 64,1% and control 10,3%; risk of range pregnancy, cases 56,4% and controls 23,1%; the history of risk disease, cases 12,8% and controls 17,9%. Result of bevariate analysis of the relationship of weight gain (p = 0,000), anemia (p = 0,000), lack energy chronic (p = 0,000) and range of pregnancy (p = 0.005) to infant with LBW. Suggested to personage in health centre to increase illuminating, to give iron tablets and supplementary feeding for pregnancy women.
