In order to mitigate urban heat environment, it is necessary to understand mitigation effect of vegetation as preciously as possible. In this study, firstly, the relationship between seasonal land surface temperatures and ratios of land uses and covers in each calculation mesh were analyzed by Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method. Secondary, the above relationships were also analyzed by Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) model to estimate local parameters of vegetation. Finally, we examined the temporal and spatial characteristics of mitigation effect of vegetation by analyzing the acquired parameters. Overall, this study indicated that it is not only important to apply the OLS method to estimate a global parameter of vegetation, but it is also recommendable to examine local parameters by using the GWR model. This approach will be a strong tool to understand the effect of vegetation to the urban heat environment.
