Abstract

The current context of migration in Chile has resulted in a series of challenges for different actors in the world of politics, civil society and, certainly, in the world of education. In order to face these complex problems, the conviction of a Chilean NGO called Educacion 2020 has been, since its origins, to empower the citizenry and strengthen the capacities of the educational communities to participate actively in social development. From this perspective, Educacion 2020 presented a project that seeks to strengthen the right to quality education of migrant students in Antofagasta, a region of Chile that has the second highest number of migrant population in Chile. The following article presents the partial results of an experience of articulating different actors of the civil society to advance towards an intercultural education and to contribute to the design of public policies that consider the reality and experience of the territory.
