Abstract

Competences are fundamental for the development of functions of those who work in the public sector; From this perspective, this research aimed to determine the level of managerial skills for a high-performance service in the provincial municipalities of the Amazonas region, Peru. A descriptive research was carried out with a non-experimental design with a quantitative approach; using the survey as a technique and the questionnaire as an instrument with a population of 115 municipal managers with a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 35. The results indicate that 74.3% of the managers are at a high level, 19.0% at a low level. intermediate and 6.7% in low level. It is concluded that the directors of the provincial municipalities of the Amazon region of Peru have the appropriate skills for the position, but they still need to be strengthened.
