Abstract

In this paper we present an innovative educational experience focused on competency assessment in a practical subject of the Degree in Optics and Optometry at the University of Valencia. Firstly, we focus on the subject in the context of the Degree program and describe their particular characteristics. Then the dynamics of a practice session is explained. In the following section, we suggest the teaching methodology based on skills and assessment designed from them. We address some evaluation results and follow-up of graduates of the Observatory of Professional Integration and Labour Advisory of the University of Valencia (OPAL). Finally, we evaluate and compare our results and experience obtained such as the teaching practice, the successes and the points that we need to strengthen with those obtained by other authors.
