Almanya'da Yaşayan Üçüncü Nesil Türkiye Kökenlilerde Kimlik Algısı

Abstract

Bir aidiyet sorunu olan kimlik, içinde bulunduğu toplumsal ve kültürel ilişkilerin ve ayrıca geçmişten günümüze ortaya çıkan tarihsel durum ve süreçlerin tamamından etkilenerek kendini inşa eder. Bu bağlamda, göç süreçlerinin kimliğin oluşumunda önemli rol oynadığı yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; 1961 yılından itibaren Almanya’ya yönelen Türk işçi göçü sonucu bugün Almanya’da bulunan Türkiye kökenli üçüncü nesil bireylerin kimlik algısını araştırmaktır. Kimlik inşasında ön koşul her zaman bir “öteki”ne duyulan ihtiyaçtır. Dolayısıyla Almanya’da yaşayan Türkiye kökenli bireylerin kendi kimliklerini inşa etmesinde de “öteki” önemli bir yer taşımıştır. Ancak günümüzde üçüncü neslin kendileri için “öteki” olan Alman kimliğini, kendilerinden tamamen farklı bir noktada konumlandırmadığı, kendi kimliklerini inşa sürecinde Alman kimliğine de yer verdikleri gözlemlenmektedir. Identity, which is a problem of belonging, is constructed through being influenced by the social and cultural relations it is in, as well as the historical events and processes that emerge from past to present. In this context, it is undeniable that immigration plays an important role in the formation of identity. The purpose of this study is to investigate the identity perception of the third generation Turkish migrants who live in Germany today, as a result of Turkish labour migration to this country starting from 1961. The prerequisite in identity construction is always the need for an "other". Thus, it has an important place in Turkish migrants’ identity construction, as well.  However, it is now observed that the third generation does not place German identity, which is the "other" for themselves, in a place completely different from theirs; in fact, includes it in constructing their own identity.
