Abstract
This research aimed at describing and analyzing moral values and intrinsic element found in the film "Freedom Authors" by Richard LaGravenese. This research used content analysis method. The details came from Richard LaGravenese's film "Freedom Writers". Method of collecting the data is through watching the movie. Then, the data were analysis through triangulation: movie, interview and book review. According to the findings of this study, there are 11 different types of ethical codes in this film. They are responsibility, strong belief and self-confidence, honesty, enthusiasm, loyalty and sacrifice, bravery, goodhearted (kind and willing to be helpful), and love and affection, peace-loving, sincerity, and perseverance. The most dominant one is responsibility. While the intrinsic elements consist of character, setting, plot, theme, and subject matter are the elements that are participating in forming a story in movie. Furthermore, the implications of teaching include the use of a tape recorder or song, switching or modifying the seating location of students, error detection or correction, journal writing, and reading encouragement, and class discussion or debate.
