Abstract

The article offers information on the plant species Ophiorrhiza pykarensis that was discovered by the authors in the Western Ghats of India. Topics discussed include the original discovery of the plant in the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve of Tamil Nadu in May 1889, the physical characteristics of the plant and its distribution, habitat and ecology and conservation.
