Decalogue of road safety for the reduction of risks in road users, motorcycle drivers, belonging to a Colombian company

Abstract

The objective of the project was to diagnose how road safety is handled by motorcycle drivers associated with a company iocated in Norte de Santander. A quantitative study was developed with a field design and descriptive level, to a total of 80 employees of a company in Norte de Santander, Cúcuta. Colombia, who are road users who are motorcycle drivers. To collect the information, a questionnaire was used based on the variables: attitudes, behaviors, looks and commitments of the personnel towards compliance with traffic regulations and road safety regulations. Based on the results, emphasis was placed on promoting a sense of belonging to road safety of these drivers, through an awareness campaign that seeks mainly to protect and save lives, but also with a preventive approach towards reducing the rates of accidents, reduction of injuries deaths from traffic accidents, and promotion of road safety culture through a decalogue for road users. It is concluded that the decalogue is a pedagogical element that can be used by the working population of the company, in order to provide valuable information to road actors on how to prevent traffic accidents: In addition, it allows promoting attitudes of respect, tolerance and giving value to the lives of others and to one's own.
