Abstract

Effect of Cerium doping on cobalt-ferrites has been synthesized by the solid state reaction method. The sintered samples of CoCexFe2-xO4 (x = 0.05 and 0.10) were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer. The XRD spectra shows the cubic spinal structure (space group Fd3m). The lattice parameter decreased with increasing Ce concentration. Increasing amount of Cerium causes little change in the magnetic parameters namely saturation magnetization, coercivity and remanence.
