Abstract

It is important to get high re-adhesion control performance for Electric Railcars. Especially in commuter's train the ratio of motor car to trailer car are small. Therefore big traction force are needed. For this point of view, wheel slip occurrence probability should be reduced in condition of decreasing adhesion force. We have developed Anti-slip and readhesion control based on a relation of adhesion force and slip speed. This paper describes basic ideas of these control method and actual railcar running test. As a result, acceleration characteristic was improved by about fifty percent and wheel slip occurrence probability was reduced to about thirty percent. © 2001, The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
