An Unlikely Duo: Air Pollution’s Link to Low Birth Weight, with Tracey Woodruff

Abstract

This article presents an interview with Tracey Woodruff, director of the Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco. When asked about different types of air pollution, she says that particulate matter (PM) air pollution has a serious effect on fetal growth. Woodruff says that low birth weight is a very important risk factor for public health. She also talks about air pollution in Beijing.
