Abstract

Traditional direct torque control (DTC) has been successfully applied for simple structures, providing excellent dynamic performance without complex coordinate transformation in permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSGs). However, the stator flux linkage and torque ripple are large in traditional DTC. To reduce the ripples, we introduce space voltage vector modulation (SVM). A novel PMSG model is presented, which shows that the DTC for PMSG with SVM maintains the advantages of traditional DTC, while reducing stator flux linkage and torque ripple. The analysis is verified by simulations.
