Abstract

Na parte inicial do texto considero várias perspectivas epistemológicas sobre os problemas de fundamentos levantados pelos paradoxos da lógica e da teoria de conjuntos no início do século vinte. Esta discussão está centrada, principalmente, nos pontos de vista de Russell, Hilbert, Brouwer e G¶del. A parte final do texto consiste de um breve exame de questões filosóficas sobre a noção de prova. AbstractIn the initial part of the text I consider various epistemological approaches to the foundational issues raised by the paradoxes of logic and set theory at the beginning of the twentieth century. This discussion is mainly centered on the views of Russell, Hilbert, Brouwer, and G¶del. The fi nal part of the text contains a brief examination of some specific philosophical issues concerning the notion of proof.
