Abstract

In this paper the attempt to consolidate the diversity in theoretical aspects of knowledge management in Europe starting from 2004 (CEN/ISSS 2004) is briefly presented. Conform to this context some original results are discussed as well. In the thereon following part diverse knowledge management tools and systems - mainly developed using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) - are introduced. After it the European road map for implementing the knowledge management is described. In addition some aspects of the application of KM in small and medium-sized enterprises will be considered. © 2006 International Federation for Information Processing.
