Abstract
Phosphotriesterase (PTE) from a bacterium, Flavobacterium sp. was applied for a novel biochemical determination of organophosphorous insecticides, in conjunction with a conductometry. Paraoxon or fenitrothion was hydrolyzed by PTE causing conductance change, which was subsequently determined by a conductance electrode. Under optimum condition, paraoxon and fenitrothion were determined within the range of 1.0∼7.0 μM and 20-100 μM, respectively.
