Abstract

This article describes a mouse, i. e. , a position indicator, which is manually moved on a supporting surface. In addition to a rotatable ball associated with X and Y rollers for indicating the X and Y movement of the mouse, another ball and an associated roller are provided in the mouse to enable the detection of a rotational angle of the mouse around the Z axis. The detected angle is utilized to correct coordinate values for the mouse obtained based on the rotational amounts of the X and Y rollers.
