Abstract

Herein we report on the synthesis and single crystal X-ray structure characterization of [ { Cu2(tidf)(-NO3) } ∞]ClO4 (tidf = a Robson type macrocyclic ligand obtained upon condensation of 2,6-diformyl-4-methylphenol and 1,3-diaminopropane). The coordination geometry around the copper(II) is square-pyramidal and has [Cu2(tidf)]2+ units connected to each other through nitrate bridges extending as a one-dimension coordination polymer. The compound exhibits an extensive supramolecular structure supported by nonclassic hydrogen bonding between C-H...Operchlorate and C-H..Onitrate.
