Razonamiento informal: estudio de la influencia del nivel educativo y la experiencia de inmigración

Abstract

The influence of culture on rationality has been analyzed in a diverse number of investigations. Yet, the differential effect of the immigration experience seems to have been slighted as the focal point of relevant studies. This investigation stems from the study of informal rationality, with the objective of analyzing how it is influenced by the level of education and the immigration experience. The study was conducted with 20 subjects; all from Andalusia and Ivory Cost. They were grouped by place of origin and level of education. After assigning each participant a debate subject to be carried out in their native tongue/dialect, it was studied that the level of education influences the quality of discourse and mode of argumentation. No significant differences were found relating tothe immigration experience. In summation, the relevance of these results stride on the idea that acquiring argumentative skills could very well be a crucial phase in the development of the thought process, as well as broadening social and communicative skills.La influencia de la cultura en el razonamiento ha sido analizada en diversas investigaciones. Sin embargo, el efecto diferencial de la experiencia de inmigración no parece haber sido abordado en profundidad. Esta investigación parte del estudio del razonamiento informal, con el objetivo de analizar la influencia que sobre éste ejercen el nivel educativo y la experiencia de inmigración. Participaron 20 sujetos, procedentes de Andalucía y Costa de Marfil, agrupados en función de su lugar de origen y nivel educativo. A partir de una tarea de debate, desarrollada en su lengua materna, se obtiene que el nivel educativo influye en el tipo de discurso y el modo de argumentación, mientras que no se encuentran diferencias significativas en función de la experiencia de inmigración. En definitiva, la relevancia de estos resultados se apoya en que aprender a argumentar puede ser una fase crucial en el aprendizaje del pensamiento, así como ampliar las destrezas sociales y comunicativas.
