Abstract
Obesity is a complex pathology that affects virtually all stages of life, regardless of socioeconomic groups. GLP-1 analogues are potentially promising drugs for weight loss in obese or overweight adults and at least one comorbidity. An integrative review of the use of the GLP-1 analogue semaglutide in the treatment of obesity and weight loss therapy was reviewed, analyzing the STEP (Semaglutide Treatment Effect in People with Obesity) study.
