Abstract

In this article the author discusses the speech by author Silas House on racism in the Appalachian region and focuses on taking a stand against injustice in Kentucky. Topics discussed includes presence of several social problems in Kentucky, a need for change in the society to evoke unity, racial integration, prejudices pertaining in the region, moving towards a culture which is fair to all, importance of social values to eradicate hate crimes and importance of radicalism.
