Abstract

This article outlines heuristics in more detail, ranging from understanding, prerequisites for being able to perform heuristics well, concrete steps in implementing heuristics and how they are applied in historical research. This description will provide a real knowledge and picture of how one performs heuristics in the context of historical methods in the digital age. In particular, this paper is very useful for students who pursue the field of history and for beginners and fans of the field of history. Heuristics are the initial stage in the historical method, but their implementation will continue to be integrated with the next stage. Heuristics cease to be performed when historiography is declared complete by the author.
