Abstract
The article studies the media consumption preferences of children from 3 to 6 years old. Peppa Pig content analysis is performed to discover how your viewing conditions the development of personal identity. The research has been framed within a mixed methodology. The questionnaire passed to 92 children in the province of Pontevedra (Spain) has been the instrument to discover the most consumed productions in early childhood. At a qualitative level, we have chosen to study, through an analysis table, the media content of Peppa Pig and its influence on the development of children's identity, paying attention to behaviour patterns, education in values and gender role. The results of the study show that Peppa Pig is an attractive series, with simple and motivating content for consumers. Although these cartoons convey notions such as emotional control, norms of courtesy, capacity for effort, conflict resolution and happiness, negative aspects are also projected such as selfishness, laziness, disrespect for adults, lack of affection between each other, provocation of problems with illogical resolutions and behaviour roles of stereotyped characters.
