Abstract

The concept of "transitional justice" and its related processes have experienced a renovation. This article presents some thoughts about a frequently forgotten subject which has special importance in the field of the so called "memory policies": the treatment of the repression files as a matter of human rights. In the first place, the text deals with some features of the Uruguayan situation as a reference point. Then, the topic is considered from a global point of view which shows the main guidelines of the most recent international experience on the subject.
