Abstract

The effects of addition of lanthanides and zirconium on mechanical properties and recovery behavior of AA 2618 aluminum alloy have been studied. The apparent activation energies of recovery process of the alloys, obtained from the change in micro-hardness were in the range 31.34 to 46.15 kJ mol -1. Lanthanides have caused the decrease in recovery rate and the increase in creep resistance of examined alloys. Copyright © 2012 De Gruyter.
