Abstract

The solubilities and diffusion coefficients of H2 in liquid Li contained in cylinders of Nb and Nb/l%Zr were determined in the temperature range 625-905°C and pressure range 13-1333 Pa. Simultaneous radial and axial diffusion into a finite solid cylinder adequately described the transport of H2 into liquid Li. The diffusion coefficient was expressed by D(cm2/sec) = 13±1 exp(-2.5±0.2×10 4/RT). Copyright © 1976 American Institute of Physics.
