Abstract
Sodium tetrazolates, Na+NNNNCRf-(Rf = F2NCF2(4), C2F5(5), CF3(6)), were formed when sodium azide was added across the triple bond of RfCN (Rf= F2NCF2(1), C2F5(2), CF3(3)). Isomeric mixtures of nitroso, cyano, and cyanuric tetrazolates, RfCNNNNX (Rf= F2NCF2, C2F5, CF3; X = NO (8–10), CN (11–13), (CN)3(14-16)), were obtained by reacting 4, 5, and 6 with NOC1, CNC1, and (CNC1)3, respectively. With hydrogen chloride or hydrazoic acid, 4 or 1 gave the stable hygroscopic solid 5-((difluoroamino)difluoromethyl)tetrazoic acid, NF2CF2CNNNNH (7). Stable complexes of tetrazolates 12 and 13, [Cu(CF3CNNNNCN)6][Cu(CF3CNNNN)4].2THF (17) and [Cu(C2F5CNNNNCN)6](C2F5CNNNN)2.2THF (18), were synthesized and characterized by infrared, NMR, and UV spectra, conductivity measurements, and elemental analysis, The ESR study of 17 is also reported. © 1989, American Chemical Society.
