Abstract

The Lyon Mode City/Interfiliere event held in September 2003 demonstrated the importance of technological advances in fabric knitting and the increasingly blurred line between fabrics for the beach and fabrics for the bedroom. The swimwear section of the show was dominated by the Brazilian manufacturers, while the return of microencapsulation technology featured heavily elsewhere. The seamfree garment sector also had some innovations, such as the elastic, adhesive film Sewfree from Bemis.
