Abstract

(Figure Presented) Down to the wire: A top-down technique that combines photolithography, thin-film metal deposition, and thin-film sectioning has been developed to fabricate patterned arrays of gold nanowires of uniform, controllable length, width, and height. A systematic study of the dependence of the surface plasmon resonance (see picture) on the geometry of these wires is presented. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
