The .AbstractTheconceptofpatientsatisfactionhasalonghistoryofcontroversyanddebate.Yetitremainsatopicofscientificinvestigation.Littleisknownaboutitsimportanceasatoolformonitoringtherighttohealth.Anon-exhaustivereviewofscientificarticlesreportedinMedlinewasdoneinordertobetterunderstandhowpatientsatisfactioncanbeinvestigatedandwhatitindicates.Overtimeandyearstheconceptofpatientsatisfactionshowsanevolutiontowardscomplexity,whilebecomingmoreoperational.Indeedpatientsatisfactionstudieshaveprovedofvalueasahealthindicatorandallowedtheimplementationofimprovementstrategiesinthehealthsectorbasedon"thevoiceofthepatient",thusbecomingapotentialrighttohealthindicator.Howevertheydohavelimits,butweconsiderneverthelessthattheyareofinterestasahealthindicatorandthattheyshouldbeputassuchonthepublichealthagenda.
