Abstract
New approaches to learning are giving a new look to the search for answers to the challenges of today’s world. With the evolution of open source technologies and the “design thinking” approach, we can perceive a behavioral change, in which aspects such as: Collaboration, empathy, and prototyping are increasingly present in schools. Students have an essential role in the process of solving their problems, and design is becoming an essential tool in this process. This article presents the contribution of design thinking to the Brazilian public education and the case study “Mount your School,” showing the entire process in practice and the results of this operation.
