Abstract

History is the oldest Social Sciences. Its approaches are often empirical but may be borrowed from other disciplines, and its concepts may have been elaborated by philosophers. Nevertheless, it requires a great rigour in the study of sources, notably by an external and an internal criticism. Thanks to very rich archives (particularly the hospital collection), it is possible to write the history of nurses.
