Abstract

This article will show how the educational models implemented in recent years in Chilean university education have impacted graduates in their performance as professionals and the perception they have of their training. To this end the study analyses the graduates’ competences in entrepreneurship and management and also in leadership and social responsibility, which are the pillars of this training. Using a qualitative methodology, we examine a sample of 40 individuals from 7 different undergraduate careers in a private university in Chile. The results show that the process of transmission and acquisition of competence is effective, and also how conditioned the answers are by the graduates’ area of specialisation. At the same time, we observe that the interviewees identify with the institutional values embodied in the educational model.
