Abstract
Adherence to medical therapy remains a challenge. In the setting of heart failure, adherence can be a life and death matter. The case presented is a 29 year old male with decompensated heart failure who suffered repeated exacerbations due to lack of adherence. Intensive education and comprehensive follow-up in a cardiovascular disease management program gradually helped him to improve his adherence and self care. The patient's ventricular function and symptoms have dramatically improved allowing him to have a normal family life.
