Abstract
Prostitution becomes installed in patriarchal societies as a social institution that supports sexual control over women. The scarcity of scientific research on the causal agent (prostitute user), on which that institution rests is evidence that we are dealing with a phenomenon that is gendered and cloaked by interests. The story of the prostitute users describes the process that objectivates women and trains males to be insensitive to cruelty.
