Abstract

The specificity of synchrotron stereotactic radiotherapy requires new developments in dose calculation and appropriate experimental procedures. The medical beamline of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility allows quantitative synchrotron radiation CT (SRCT) images to be obtained from a monochromatic x-ray beam. This paper investigates initial experimental dosimetry with normoxic polyacrylamide gel dosimeters. MRI and SRCT readouts are compared. © 2006 IOP Publishing Ltd.
