The international system of units ( SI).

Abstract

The Systeme International d'Unites (SI) is the first system of units to become universally applicable throughout science and engineering. It will supersede all other systems still in existence, affecting also the field of surveying. The article introduces the SI and gives some basic instructions for its practical use. - Author
