Abstract

The 1H and 13C NMR signals of cyclohexyl Ph sulfides, sulfoxides, and sulfones were almost completely assigned, and the effects of diastereotopism in cis-4-tert-butylcyclohexyl Ph sulfoxide were rationalized. Substituent effects on the 17O chem. shifts of numerous sulfoxides and sulfones are discussed. An unusual paramagnetic g gauche effect on the 33S nucleus was detected in cis-4-tert-butylcyclohexyl Ph sulfone. [on SciFinder (R)]
