Abstract

Caliroa O. COSTA is a small genus belonging to the subfamily Blennocampinae. The larvae skeletonize the leaves of trees, leaving one cuticle intact, and somtimes cause a great damage to horticultural or forestry trees. This paper deals with 7 Japanese species which are known to me at present, including 3 new species, and provides description of the larval character of the genus. All the types are preserved in the entomological laboratory of the Hyogo University of Agriculture. Before going further I express my hearty thanks to Messrs. H. HASEGAWA, R. INOMATA, T. ITO and I. TOGASHI for their presentation of materials. © 1965, JAPANESE SOCIETY OF APPLIED ENTOMOLOGY AND ZOOLOGY. All rights reserved.
