La thématique du bouc émissaire est au centre de l'œuvre de Pierre Lasry, romancier et cinéaste juif montréalais. Après Shylock (National Film Board of Canada, 1999), Lasry représente l'écrivain juif lançant son « bouquin émissaire » à la mer vers l'Amérique, pour rédimer un monde imparfait, tel le grand-prêtre précipitant le bouc émissaire dans le désert.The theme of the scapegoat is at the centre of the work of Pierre Lasry, a Montreal Jewish novelist and filmmaker. After Shylock (National Film Board of Canada, 1999), Lasry depicts the Jewish writer launching his « emissary book » to the sea to America, to redeem an imperfect world, such as the high priest rushing the scapegoat into the desert.
