Abstract
Objective: to analyse the antifungal resistance of azoles in infections of the female genital tract. Method: Systematic review. Results and conclusion: The analysis of the antifungal resistance of azoles in infections of the female genital tract highlights the importance of understanding the molecular mechanisms involved, such as the overexpression of efflux pumps and mutations in the ERG11 gene, which hinder therapeutic efficacy. The precise identification of Candida species and the performance of antifungal susceptibility tests are essential to optimise treatment, reduce recurrence and prevent the selection of resistant strains.
