Abstract

Five new 5-amino-2-oxo-7-aryl-2,3,4,7-tetrahydro-1,3-thiazolo [4,5-b]pyridine-6-carboxamide derivatives, which are different with the products of 5-amino-2-oxo-7-aryl-2,3,4,7-tetrahydro-1,3-thiazolo [4,5-b]pyridine-6-carbonitrile derivatives in the conventional heating conditions, were synthesized by using arylmethylene malononitrile, 2,4-thiazolidinedione and ammonium acetate in one-pot via microwave irradiation techniques. And the reaction mechanism was discussed. The structures of these compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, IR, MS and elemental analysis. © 2013 Chinese Chemical Society & SIOC, CAS.
