The relationship between Peronism - both as a political force and as the governing party - and organizations of civil society has only been partially considered in historiography. For this reason, this paper discusses the relationship forged between the Peronist state and professional associations in the province of Buenos Aires. Initially this link was harmonious, but that trend was reversed around mid-1952, when a period identified by a growing advance of Peronism over professional associations began. This process showed the ruling party's interest to include professional associations into the "organized community" it intended to build around its political project. © 2010 by Unisinos.
