Abstract

Disparities in early literacy and numeracy achievement remain a challenge in early childhood education, highlighting the need for learning media that align with young children's information-processing characteristics. This study aims to develop Literanu, an interactive animated media designed to support early literacy and numeracy learning. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes needs analysis, storyboard and character design, prototype development, classroom implementation, and formative evaluation. The media was tested with 50 kindergarten B children at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Pandansurat. Data were collected through observations, teacher interviews, expert validation, and practicality questionnaires, and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that Literanu achieved a high level of feasibility based on expert validation (94% from the material expert and 96% from the media expert) and was considered highly practical by teachers. Classroom implementation further demonstrated that children were actively engaged and able to follow instructions delivered through characters and narration. Overall, Literanu serves as a relevant digital learning media for early childhood education settings, particularly those with limited technological resources, and holds potential for further development to cover broader learning content.
