Abstract

A new species of dorippid crab, Sodakus mexicanus n. sp., is described and one species each of callianassid, pagurid, and calappid crustaceans are reported from the Maastrichtian lower siltstone member of the Potrerillos Formation. A paleoenvironmental interpretation of shallow facies within a deltaic system may explain the presence of one of the most diverse crustacean faunas from the Late Cretaceous of Mexico. -from Authors
