Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between fanaticism towards football clubs and verbal aggression behavior among student supporters in Yogyakarta City. This research uses a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The research subjects consisted of 63 students who were members of the PSIM Yogyakarta supporter group (Brajamusti). The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale to measure the level of fanaticism and verbal aggression. The research results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between football fanaticism and verbal aggression behavior with a Pearson correlation coefficient value of 0.785 > 0.248.The level of fanaticism and verbal aggression among respondents mostly falls into the very high category. These findings indicate that the higher the level of fanaticism towards a football team, the greater the tendency for an individual to exhibit aggressive verbal behavior. This research is expected to serve as a reference for supporter organizations, security personnel, and related parties in understanding and managing the emotional dynamics that arise in the context of support for the football club being supported.
