Abstract
In 1977, Jefferson Community College, University of Kentucky, faced an 11 percent drop in enrollment. Although declining enrollments are a fact of Life to most of the nation's col-leges and universities, Jefferson Community College, an open door institution, chose to at-tack the problem rather than to accept the consequences of fewer students. This paper is a description of some unusual strategies which proved to be successful in reversing declining enrollment, and in developing faculty and staff involvement in a creative problem-solving process.
