Abstract

The use of information and communication technologies in public institutions have allowed them to improve their times in administrative, financial and service procedures to society, in an agile and timely manner. The objective of this article is to analyze the incidence of information and communication technologies in the management of the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government of the Rocafuerte canton, during the coronavirus pandemic. Methodologically, the research was applied from a quantitative paradigm at a descriptive level, of a documentary and field type, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population was formed by random sampling of 381 citizens, census-type to 100 public servants and reports of collection and procedures, through questionnaires on the Likert scale and online. The results denote an important level of use of information technologies in public management, which is essential for the development of institutions. In conclusion, this investigation determined that the implemented measures made the use of ICTs essential in the management of institutions, energizing the digital in order to meet the needs of the population.
